As a huge fan of Travis's artwork, I was excited at the thought of him being apart of the relaunch of Sloppydays.com. I knew he had a lot going on, especially after seeing a gang of advertisements for a game that looked like his artwork. Come to find out he was the art director for the independent video game project titled 'Freedom Finger' by 'Wide Right Games.' Travis describes the game as a "batshit crazy space shooter." I asked him if he would be interested in picking out a few of his favorite graphics for a 'Picture This' article and talking about the inspiration behind each one, and he was super down to earth and knocked it out! He even provided us with a self-portrait. Check out @theotherfudge on instgram for more work!
Maybe reflective of how I was feeling at the time. Not a self portrait.. not sure who that guy is really, but I can relate.

I love dogs, we found a young knucklehead dog wandering down our street about seven years ago. No collar, no chip. Named him "Rodney", and he never left. I imagined Rod being sick of his old place, busting out for a life on his own, maybe forming a punk band. He’s writing a song. "Bark! Bark! all i wanna do is BITE BITE! I dont give a shit I wanna FIGHT FIGHT…!”

This was based on a dream my friend Chloe Cooper-Jones told me. A squeaky hamster wheel was turning in the room while she was sleeping, and in her dream, that sound translated to bones grinding on a skeleton doing the dishes. Chloe is a brilliant writer, and the way she described it resonated. The dishes are never done.

I don't usually feel like I'm bursting with ideas when I sit down with a blank page. Ideas generally bubble up when I'm in the shower, or doing dishes or walking around aimlessly in the neighborhood. This one appeared in my head one day at the sink. Maybe a metaphor for writers' block or whatever issue is lingering in your psyche waiting to be unraveled.
